Every time i have a skin issue, i am consistently recommended kiehl’s products by everyone i know. No, kiehl’s is not entirely cruelty free.

Kiehl’s is a brand with a wide range of popular products that are available for sale in different parts of the world. Even though they claim to not test on animals, they choose to sell in a country that requires imported cosmetics to be tested on animals. They do test on animals where required by law, or under certain circumstances.

Whilst prai beauty recognises the importance of customer safety, the brand believes this can be sufficiently achieved without animal cruelty. According to peta, kiehl’s (owned by l’oreal) is still testing on animals. Kiehl’s pays and allows their products to be tested on animals when required by law.

They now no longer state they “test when required to by law”. Though they don’t profess to be. I have just checked on the kiehl’s website and they now appear to be cruelty free.

So while that’s not lying, it does kind of suck. Prai beauty is cruelty free but not 100% vegan. Kiehl’s products are sold in mainland china where animal testing is still required by law.

They note that they even check their suppliers haven’t involved any ingredients in animal testing or cruelty.
